Monthly Recap: April

May 1, 2016 by Sana

April turned out to be much more intense than previously expected all thanks to a book.

LIST OF NEWSWORTHY

listofnewsworthyApril2016
Anticlockwise: Random artsy photo // Radio in the car // April 26th, a very important day for my ship // Reading my fave book outside // Trying out an audiobook again and weirdly enjoying the experience // Best present thanks to Crini and Maraia

Traveling and What Not

I went on a ten-day trip to another state and I can’t really call it a vacation because a 30°C or more weather chockfull of humidity is just not vacation weather. It was a nice change though, but I was so glad to be back in my city that does spring right.

I’ve decided to stop procrastinating and seriously do something about Master’s so let’s hope I actually do something, gaaah.

OTP-ing

You know that feeling when you spend more than a year headcanon-ing, theorizing, discussing and dying over your OTP and then you get to read the canon and die over and over? The only thing we were sure of is a kiss and hot damn is all I’ll say here. That was pretty much my last week of April.

TV WATCH

So I’m behind on pretty much every show I watch because mood, sigh.

tvwatchApril2016
The dream team // Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • The Flash – I’m actually not caught up on it ever since it came back from the break and yeah, I didn’t sign up for the feels.
  • iZombie – Umm the season finale sure was a gamechanger and so bloody like whoa, slow down there show.
  • Empire – Ugh, ugh I hate when a show I LOVE starts to become bad.
  • Fresh Off the Boat – What could be more perfect than this show?! The episode about parents sharing responsibilities? GOLD. Also, Emery and his scream jars are so adorable.
  • Faking It – Can we stop with all the repetitiveness? It’s getting on my nerves.
  • Awkward – Meh, this show is a trainwreck.
  • The Big Bang Theory – The episode with the big ass bear was probably my favorite because look at Raj go, ha ha.
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine – Aaah, what a season finale! This show is seriously my favorite when it comes to comedy.
  • New Girl – I really hope Winston gets to get together with his crush which reminds me, the episode with cats being cast in movies was epic.
  • Daria – I love Daria’s sarcasm so, so much. Also, Jane and Daria are friendship goals.
  • The Catch – Oh, so I’m totally not a fan of the whole look, a Muslim princess from the Gulf whose hella educated, knows how to drive even if her country won’t allow her to, her head coverage is nothing more than a fashion statement and oh, she’s actually oppressed storyline. What even? Maybe spare me the Muslim women are oppressed stereotype? I’d have absolutely loved her character if not for that. Other than that, the heists are fairly predictable and it’s an okay show, so there.
  • Jane the Virgin – Just the best happy vibe show out there, please never change.
  • Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – I’m still 2 episodes away from catching up but man, Spacetime was such an epic episode with the death visions. Totally gave me a Miriam Black vibe (and made me sad that Miriam Black TV show got pulled, argh).

MOVIE WATCH

” it’s an okay show” WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT, that makes me sad XD

Love that Pynch pretty much got it’s on section this time.

I should’ve probably elaborated on that. XD I think the characters are the best part of the show (except the main female and male leads who are just…weird? Also, Margot is meh). Sophie and Danny are my favorites and I definitely ship them. However, the plot is just a bit cheesy like the whole thing with pay or die was so predictable because of course, they weren’t actually going to get killed and oh, when Alice let Ben go, I was all ??? It definitely has the potential for me so let’s see. =P

I keep wanting to do a separate post on Pynch, but I’m resisting. XD

What were you doing in another state? Visiting family?

Have you looked at schools in Michigan yet? 😛

Are we ever moving on from our Pynch feels? I think not. Especially if we keep quoting them, which, let’s face it, we will. 😀

I’m sad you’re not loving The Catch. I definitely see your points about the princess (also, what is with the name of her country? oO), but I’m surprised you don’t like the heist aspects. I’m really enjoying the show, despite the fact that I think the MC is awful. She always looks like she’s about to cry or something. xD

Best book haul! Sorry, all other months.

I love how Sia still hasn’t gotten old!

I mainly went there because my mother was there for her checkup after her kidney transplant back in April 2015 and then we found out that she contracted Tuberculous so she was there since January. =/ As she couldn’t travel alone, I basically went there for a few days (stayed with the relatives) so that I could accompany her back. She’s doing a lot better now so all’s good.

I was actually looking at US schools only yesterday and then I got super overwhelmed and closed everything. =D

LOL that fake Gulf country name was just ridiculous. It’s just that I’m almost always able to tell how they’re going to pull off the heists so that’s take the fun out of it. I do like the characters a lot so I hope it gets better for me. Oh my, the main character looks so weird when she’s not wearing eyeliner and definitely looks like she’s about to cry hahaha.

Yesss! TRK makes every book haul better. \o/

Is that a Kell Me mug? Where did you acquire it? I love anything related to Shades of Magic and Victoria Schwab!

Yes, it is! But my friend only made it for me. She does have Society6 and Redbubble accounts that you can browse, though!
